Yonca Talu is a film critic, filmmaker, and film professor based in Paris.

She has been a regular contributor to Film Comment Magazine, Metrograph Journal, and Galerie.

She has moderated masterclasses at the EnergaCAMERIMAGE Film Festival, the La Rochelle Film Festival, the Festival Premiers Plans d’Angers, and the Festival Chefs Op’ en Lumière.

Her film work has been featured at the Key West Film Festival, the Blow-Up Arthouse Film Festival, the Istanbul International Short Film Festival, and the Festival Côté court de Pantin, among others.

She is a faculty member at the Paris College of Art, where she teaches in the Global BFA in Film Art program offered in partnership with Emerson College, Boston.

She holds a BFA in Film and Television from the Tisch School of the Arts, New York University, and an MA in Film Studies from the École normale supérieure, Paris.

Her thesis, supervised by film historian Antoine de Baecque, centered on the portrayal of historical trauma in the films of Alain Resnais and the intersections of this portrayal with modern American horror cinema.

She is trilingual in English, French, and Turkish.
